I am excited to have the opportunity to become the Norfolk’s first County Youth Commissioner. So here we go, I hope this gives you a little bit of an insight into what makes me tick!
I have a passion for the outdoors and I am currently studying outdoor adventure at City College, where my enjoyment of the outdoors is put in to a leadership role by instructing.
I believe outdoor adventure has a key place in Scouting and I really want to help to get more young people outside, active, working together, developing both their team skills and social skills.
I started Beavers when I was 6 years old and progressed through Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. I then became a Young Leader and completed my Young Leader belt.
I have many memories from my years as a scout, many of them ending up with me being injured in one way or another! (I am a bit accident prone to say the least!) I have enjoyed many camps both in the UK and abroad, I hope to use and share these experiences in my new role.
My aim as a County Youth Commissioner is to help enable youth shaped scouting and support other young people, like me, to develop their leadership skills. I also want to support all adults in scouting to think of ways to keep programmes fresh, exciting, adventurous and relevant.
It is really important to me that all young people have the opportunity to have the experiences and to create the memories like I have.
I will try to see as many people across the county as I can!
See you soon, I’m still accident prone so First Aid boxes at the ready!
