Information about changes to how the county celebrate our St George’s Day awardsThe County Executive and I have taken the decision that we will not be holding our annual St. George’s Day dinner this year.
Some districts hold dinners or events of their own which I strongly support, but this has contributed to additional stretch on people’s diaries and pockets.
Following feedback and suggestions this year we will be holding an afternoon tea for award holders, Queen’s Scouts and Duke of Edinburgh Gold achievers. Due to capacity restrictions, this event will be invitation only, with each award holder being able to bring two guests to celebrate with them.
The response to this event has been very positive from the award holders.
Matthew Burrell, County Commissioner (Norfolk)
