About the role

The Scouts have an ambition to grow and provide skills for life to more and more young people and adults.

A key ingredient to our growth is the provision of a fantastic adventurous programme, past experience shows us where there is good programme, there are more young people (and adults too!)

The adventurous activity permit scheme developments and empowers our leaders to be able to deliver challenging programmes for their young people

What we’re looking for

Norfolk Scouts has an opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic volunteer to take the role of Manager of the Activity Permit and Nights Away schemes, (MAPS)

As our MAPS you will coordinate the activities of our set of advisers and assessors and be a key driver for making permit applications as straightforward as possible. Our leaders say that permits are confusing and they don’t know how to get them, your job will be offer advice, assistance and help more people gain qualifications.

There are some key reporting and auditing functions that will also require your attention.

You will be a key member of the County Team who are responsible for the strategic operation of our local organisation.
