Jamboree on the Air

Find out how you can take part in JOTA 21-22 October 2017

All Scout Groups in Norfolk are invited to attend the Norfolk Scout JOTA station based at 8th Norwich HQ to participate in JOTA 2017.

This year we have combined with the with Norfolk Amateur Radio Club to run a JOTA station to assist groups in participating in JOTA 2017. Whilst aimed primarily at the Scout Section, we would welcome applications from other sections to attend the station and participate in JOTA which would help them obtain the sections communicator badge.

WHY?

We are aiming to:

  • To provide taster session promoting use of radio facilities
  • Facilitate Completion of 25 Radio contacts which is part of the Badge requirements of Scouts Communicator Badge
  • Promote Amateur Radio to Young People and Scout leaders
  • Communicate with Scouts from around the world to promote the sense of belonging to Worldwide Scouting

Please see the official JOTA website for all of the events objectives.

I WANT MY SECTION TO COMPLETE THE SCOUT COMMUNICATOR BADGE?

Whilst resources will not allow us to cover all of the requirements of the Scout Communicator badge during the JOTA weekend the most difficult requirement is to complete 25 Radio Contacts which we will undertake during the session.

We have developed a programme that can be delivered at a normal Scouts weekly meeting and would be able to deliver these additional aspects for you.

Please contact Simon (below) for further information
