More information about our Young People going to the World Scout Jamboree
Hello, I am Beka Millard, Assistant County Commissioner (International), also known as the ACC(I). I wanted to give you a quick update about our World Scout Jamboree contingent.
Unit Leader Conference and Young People Selection
The Unit Leaders attended their first conference on 4 and 5 November at Yarnfield Park Training and Conference Centre. This helped them to gain valuable insight into the coming months.
The Selection Weekend for the young people also happened on 18 and 19 November at Saxlingham Nethergate Scout HQ. 64 young people attended over the course of the weekend. Confirmation of places was confirmed with the successful young people on 20 November, at which time communication was also sent to all those who weren’t successful, along with details of how to request feedback.
We hope all the young people enjoyed what was a fun and very well organised day. My thanks go to all the leaders and county team who organised and assisted on the day.
A picture of the successful young people is below and a list of names is available from the County Office. Our congratulations go out to all of them.
This is just the start of the two year adventure that is the World Scout Jamboree for them. They met up with the Suffolk half of the Unit for the first time on 2 December at Suffolk Scout Headquarters. For more of their latest updates you can visit their website www.wsj2019.co.uk
