Norfolk Scouts have been contacted by the Norwich St Edmunds Rotary about the possibility of them funding one of our members to attend a Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) this year in September at Grafham Water.
Applicants would be aged 18 – 25 and need to be available for all dates between 1 – 8 September.
RYLA is a recognised programme runs from 16:00 on Saturday 1 September until 14:00 Saturday 8 September 2018 The RYLA programme is a mixture of carefully designed learning experiences, a business simulation, challenging exercises using the outdoors and feedback sessions delivered by professional trainers who have experience of working with young people in a challenging environment through education.

This would be a great embellishment to a CV, job or University Application and certainly could be considered for elements of the Queen’s Scout Award and Duke of Edinburgh. This would also support the Adult Modular training scheme.
The course costs several hundred pounds which would be funded by Rotary and Norfolk Scouts would pay for your travel costs should you be selected.
To be selected you would need to make a short presentation to the club at their meeting in Norwich, however we could support with your preparation. The Rotary are clear that they are not looking for the person with the fanciest slides or more confident stance. They are looking for potential that they can help you unlock.
