Well Done Patty!

North Walsham Beaver Scout Leader recognised by her employer

Congratulations to Patty Pye, a Beaver Scout Leader from North Walsham, who has been recognised by her employer as their ‘Hero of the Month’ for her work within the local community through Scouting.

Patty, who works for a life and pensions company called ReAssure, was put forward by her workmates to highlight the effort she had made to deliver Dementia Awareness Training within her company and Scouting.

Patty’s achievement has been shared via the following message on the company’s intranet, social media and on TV screens located in their three offices across the country, bringing attention of Scouting and our community impact activities to over 2,000 employees.

“ReAssure’s Hero of the Month

Our third ReAssure Hero of 2018 is Patty Pye!

Patty has been nominated by her colleagues in Norwich in recognition of her volunteer work with Beavers and Scouts, and for being a Dementia Champion.

Patty has championed 7 Dementia Awareness sessions for colleagues in Norwich and Telford but has also trained local Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts in understanding the symptoms of Dementia as part of their ‘A Million Hands’ programme.

Patty is always keen to be involved in any activities which support the wider community, both inside and outside of work and her Dementia Awareness training has been well received within the Scouting community in Norfolk. It is Patty’s aspiration to make all North Walsham Scout Group dementia friendly!

‘Patty is a fantastic example of true dedication to everyone here at ReAssure’”
