Charity details update

If you are a trustee, you may receive an email from the Charity Commission

The Charity Commission for England and Wales is reminding those Scout Groups, Districts and Counties/Areas who are registered charities, of the need to keep their details up to date.  This can be done by using the change charity details service to keep your charity details, including contact information and the names and email addresses of your current Executive Committee members (Charity trustees), which will be mandatory in this year’s annual return.

Note: Scout Groups, Districts and Counties/Area only have to register with the Charity Commission for England & Wales if certain criteria are met. Those that don’t need to register are classified as an “Excepted Charity” – meaning they are still a charity in all other respects.
