New Active Support Unit

Interested in helping others?
Want to support a huge range of Norfolk Scouts events with emergency medical cover?

We are creating a County Active Support Unit to be available to guide, support and train leaders across Norfolk with a valuable skill.
It will involve working with all sections, Districts and outside charities to provide great care to those involved in Scouting.

If you are interested in being part of this Active Support Unit, please email: m.kitchin@norfolkscouts.org.uk with your current skills and the kind of work you would like to do for the ASU.

If you wish to be considered for a role of First Responder, we have some FREC3 training spaces available.

There are however, some pre-requisites for this course;

• Be over 18

• Be able to study to “Level 3” – this can be quite challenging and does include some written and practical tests including anatomy studies – you will be trained but it requires your hard work to pass!

• Be physically fit

• Already hold a recognised and current first aid qualification (for example Scouting First Responder)

• Be willing and able to commit time to support Scouting events as required

The induction evening for the ASU is 17 December 2019 and training will be over 2 weekends (3-5 January and 24-26 January 2020).

If you are interested and can’t make the first training… don’t worry.
There will be more opportunities, send your details to me and we can get things started!

Thanks

Matt Kitchin
Assistant County Commissioner – Events
