QSA / SOWA has New Coordinator!

Welcome to Carl Meadows – Newly appointed Queen Scout & Scout of the World Coordinator

Brief history of my scouting career:
I started Scouting as a beaver in 1997 and haven’t stopped. Since I’ve been 18, I’ve had a variety of roles. I started as a Assistant Scout Leader and moved onto county and district roles. My main focus with every role is the Top Awards scheme, helping young people to achieve their best or support adults to do the same.

Who inspires you and why?
There are too many people that inspire me. My family & friends, the adults that give up their time for Scouting and the young people. I get inspired all the time by the great Scouting I see around the county, it’s amazing how different we are but all work to the same goal.

If you were stuck on a desert island – which of each of these would you take and why?
Book: I probably take a Lee Child book, I love the action of Jack Reacher
CD: This is difficult as I love music, my favourite album is the legends album by Bob Marley
Camp Gadget: it would have to be a multi tool, that way I’d have different tools for different jobs.
Sweet: Haribo definitely!! I love a bag of Haribo.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?
I’m looking front to promoting these 2 awesome awards, sharing my own experiences and finding out about others. It going to be great having more young people achieving their top awards.
