Iceni Network Round Up

Iceni Network have had a full programme for our fortnightly meetings which can be anything from traditional scouting activities such as shooting and pioneering, to social events such as bowling and quiz nights. We have also supported a number of County Events such as Top Awards and the Royal Norfolk Show; and District Events such as St George's Day Parade. Then there are the Explorer Linking activities and camps which always prove to be lots of fun!

However, we must not forget all the Camps we have attended in 2011 both National Network Camps and our County Camp. Some of our members went to the Isle of Wight Revolution Camp in April and others attended the Network Festival Camp, in Coventry, in June. A common theme for many Network Camps is the fancy dress competition (and Networkers can be competitive!) and for the latter camp two members dressed as Olive and Popeye, as it was Kid's TV themed. Then we had our own Norfolk Network Camp held at Roughton Mill over the summer which provided us with the perfect opportunity to go enjoy the beach and swim in the sea!

Following this was Intense Network Camp in September held near Bristol. This provided us a chance to catch up with new friends we had made earlier in the year and complete lots of activities such as Segways, Shooting, Archery, Inflatables, Crazy Golf, Laser Tag and much more. Oh and with the Fancy Dress Theme being Safari two Networkers dressed as a Zebra and a Butterfly! In October, we went to Derbyshire Network's Alton Towers Camp. We all had a great time both at Alton Towers and at the Network Parties, where we decided to go for a UV theme for the first night and in school uniform on the second!

And we are not finished yet! We have the County Network Party and Awards to attend as well as our own Christmas Meal in Norwich.

So what have we got in the pipeline for next year? 

We will be continuing our great fortnightly programme, and supporting county events. We aim to try and get to as many National Network Camps as possible, and hold our own local ones as well! Our aim is to fit in at least one every month! We are looking at completing at least one Partnership Award, get more members working on their Queen's Scout Award and look at planning for an international trip! Plus we have a special challenge for the Olympics!! 

2012 is the 10th Anniversary for Network and it is going to be a great year!!
