Norfolk CCC08 - Countdown to Camp...



Its here!! Just travel safely and arrive on time. It is going to be a great weekend. Loads to do, prizes to win, skills to learn and you should all get very tired!




Opening There are now nearly 400 Cubs wanting to take part in the hike.

A timed list has been sorted and will be given to Sub Camp Leaders. Please organise any changes between yourselves.

Report to the table near the Adventure activities and main gate at least 5 minutes before the start of the Hike. You must sign out and in – a certificate will be given on completion.

Ensure you have strong shoes/boots, covered shoulders, hats and plenty of water.




Opening Ceremony 20:30 followed by a Disco
Activity times are Saturday 09:00 – 12:30 and 13:30 – 17:00.
Circus and Fun Fair 18:00 – 20:00
World Vision Sing-a-long 20:00
Sunday - Marathon 09:30.
Activities 1000 – 13:30.
Closing Ceremony 15:00
You can join activities at any time and also return to your camp site at any time. Carry a cup/mug/bottle so that you can have plenty of drinks.

Drinks will also be on sale in the Barns and in the shop.

Do you know about Nelson’s Journey ?

Are you collecting your pennies to put in the Gift Envelopes you will make at the Chinese Challenge to feed the Dragon .

All donations will go to Nelson’s Journey – a Norwich based Charity - in operation since November 1997.  The charity was established to provide a service to children and young people who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life e.g. mother, father, sibling etc. Working with children up to the age of 17yrs (inclusive). 

There will be other activities to do at the Chinese Challenge – use chop sticks, try tea, make a fan and a dragon .

Get practising for the World Vision - ‘Sing a Long’ on Saturday evening.

In the Exhibition Hall 20:30 hours.

We have a Member of the Gilwell team to lead this event.



Make sure you arrive on time – from 1800 hrs.

Meet you leaders at the gate.

Find you Sub Camp team.

Be ready for the Opening Ceremony and Disco in the Exhibition Hall – 2030 start.  

Can you really miss this?!




Leaders – You will be able to order all activity instructions – complete the book in the activity area – include your e-mail address and all details will be sent within a week of the Camp finishing.

No instructions will be available at the Camp to take away.



 

Come to the Circus 1800 to 2000.

Come as a Ring Master, Clown, Tight Rope walker.

Come and try a new skill, have some candy floss and pop corn, take part in activities you have done before and love!

Get your face painted, win some prizes .




Please remember every Cub needs a strong
plastic bag– named - to keep all the
wonderful things they will be making during
the weekend.

It would also be useful if they had a mug to carry with them.

It would help if each Group could have an extra Adult – please note any Scouts, Explorers
will also get a certificate if they take part in this to add to their number of hikes.

Start times will be circulated to each Sub Camp leaders.

Please ensure you are at the Registration table near the main entrance 5 minutes
before start time.



If you haven’t already got a CAMPER Badge – make sure you pack your own kit for Camp.

If you would like to do one of the activities for the DIY Badge – get Akela to let you make a Notice Board for Camp.




Are you ready for the Sunday Marathon?

On start line at 0930.

Are you being Sponsored to raise funds for your Group.

You should have been given a Sponsor Form from your leader – if not ask them now!

Medals will be issued to everyone completing the run.




Have you booked in??
If you want to take part in a Hike from the site on Saturday or Sunday morning, and want to gain another Hike towards your next badge.



Ask your leader! Numbers MUST be in by 5 th May 2008 - any later and its too late!

Remember:
You need suitable clothing and footwear.
