How about taking part in the National Air Rifle Championship?

Norfolk Scouting volunteer, Rick Cooper thinks local groups should give it a try!

42nd National Scout Air Rifle Championships

The National Scout Air Rifle Championships will be happening between 19  – 21 October 2018 at the National Shooting Centre Bisley Surrey. The Event brings together Scouts of varying different standards from all over the UK together to engage in a weekend of Multi Discipline Shooting including 10 Yrd Rifle, Pistol , Field Target and Knockout as well as many other disciplines if you decide you want to go.

It’s a fun activity and gives both Scouts and Adults the opportunity to shoot in a competition format, Its very popular and spaces are limited some a quick application is recommended

I personally have been involved with the event for about 20 years not as a competitor but as Range Officer. For the best part of my involvement I have run the KNOCKOUT competition a fast pace event loved by all … the one time in life where you go head to head against a fellow Scout in a battle of will to knock down as many targets as possible in 2 mins …. Its tense, it’s exciting, it’s exhilarating .. and amazing to see 2 Winners at the end of competition having started with 750 competitors!

If you have not been its worth the experience, other from Norfolk have taken part before and some have won events …. Why not take the opportunity to take part?
