Supporting the UK WSJ Contingent

Find out how you and your sections can show your support to UK Contingent Members attending the 24th World Scout Jamboree as International Service Team

Norfolk International Service Team member, Rick Cooper, shares a couple of ways that you and your sections can show support:

  • UK Contingent Supporters Badges (Fundraising)
  • North America in a Bag (Programme Resource)

UK Contingent Supporters Badges (Fundraising)

The United Kingdom Jamboree Contingent has produced a rather spectacular Supporters badge to celebrate the 24th World Scout Jamboree.

The County Commissioner has very kindly allowed the wearing of this badge (featuring the now famous TEABEAR) on uniform of all the members of Norfolk Scouting including young people.

At the 24th World Scout Jamboree over 40,000 scouts from all over the world will come together to share the  magic that is World Scouting.

I am attending the Jamboree as part of the 750 strong International Service Team and will be working on of the many subcamps occupied by participants whilst at the Jamboree.

The badges cost £2.00 each. All profits made go to support those members of Norfolk Scouting attending the 24th World Scout Jamboree going as members of the international Service Team.

How to order your Supporter Badges

North America in a Bag (Programme Resource)

“North America in a Bag” is the UK Contingent’s programme resource to help involve Scouts and Guides in the fun and excitement of the Jamboree.

The local Norfolk unit has a bag containing a few resource items and is an opportunity for groups and sections to ask the local Jamboree unit to run activities as part of there programme, however given the enormity of the county and your excitement to get the new resources,  you may well feel that simply having the opportunity to use the programme ideas works for you…

There area wide range of activities for all sections and well worth a look especially if you are looking for ideas for the International / Global aspect of the programme.

Have fun!!
