Welcome to the team: Louis Franklin

Louis Franklin joins the County Team on 1 May as County Youth Commissioner find out a little bit about him.

Brief history into your scouting career:

I have been in Scouts since Beavers, initially in South East London, but I moved to Norfolk when I was in Cubs, I joined 1st Tasburgh Sea Scouts in Southern Norfolk where I remain to this day as a Section Leader with our Scout Troop.

I am also currently serving as District Youth Commissioner for Southern Norfolk.

Who inspires you and why?

All of our amazing Leaders in Norfolk who work tirelessly to deliver scouting all across Norfolk!

If you were stuck on a desert island – what one of each of these would you take and why?

Book: James and the Giant Peach, a childhood classic!

CD: The Stone Roses’ – The Stone Roses, an album full of absolute bangers.

Camp Gadget: Penknife, obviously!! Whats more entertaining than whittling.

Sweet: Gotta be a classic Rhubarb and Custard, nothing more satisfying than crunching them instead of chewing them, perhaps that is a bit weird…

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I am most looking forward to getting out into Norfolk and really driving the delivery of Youth Shaped Scouting, I am also looking forward to building a strong team comprised of all the amazing District Youth Commissioners too!
