Today saw the Norfolk and Suffolk World Scout Jamboree unit leave Eaton Vale and head to the airport to start their amazing journey! They head to New York for a day, with some sightseeing, before making the journey to Summit Bachtel Reserve. This is where they will join with 40,000 other young people for WSJ2019. After the jamboree they then travel to Washington DC and then on to Canada to spend some time with their host group.
The group were seen off by parents and Scouting family members a like. Matthew (our lovely County Commissioner) was there to wave them off. But who knows what he said to Penny here….
After lots of hard work, lots of laughs and some tears we are very proud as a County to have a wonderful group, who are the future generation of amazing leaders (who don’t know it yet, thanks Matthew) heading transatlantic to represent us!
We wish them safe travels and an amazing time! We look forward to hearing all about their adventures when they return.
It was lovely to get an update from the group as they arrived at Heathrow, there are Scouts everywhere!
Keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram pages to see the latest updated from them. You can follow them on Instagram using @wsjunit18.
Thank you Penny H and Matthew B for the photos.
