Seeonee tells us about their term so far!

Seeonee are a Cub pack based in Taverham, we asked them what they have been up to so far this term, and what they had planned! Carole, Cub Leader, has kindly shared with us.

September saw us working of fire lighting skills, camp fires and cooking on open fires. Cubs were introduced to chopping and sawing wood safely, safe site management and primitive fire lighting skills including flint and steel opposed to magnesium sticks (they did those too), this was reinforced on an activity day held at hq. Here we had  7 Cubs doing activities including fire lighting, wood safety, archery, orienteering with cryptic clues (code breaking), den building and wide games. It was well received by parents and Cubs and finished off with family time around the camp fire with food and songs.

Meetings have been well attended with 2 new Cubs coming into the pack who are settling well.

We have been working on the chef badge and the Cubs made a 2 course meal – meatballs spaghetti and angel delight.

October will include a visit to Norwich Synagogue and we will be working through the world badge for a Cub who will join Scouts at Christmas and assist in him obtaining his silver award. Also we will be working on the scientist badge and Thanksgiving.

We are going to Eaton Vale in November for the hike and overnight trip which is at full capacity. We have also asked parents for an expression of interest for the overnighted at High Altitude. A date therefore will be great to ensure leaders are also available.

Sounds like a great term so far! Thanks for sharing with us.
