A new District Commissioner joins the County Team

The County Commissioner has appointed a new member of the County Team to be District Commissioner for North West Norfolk.

James Shilling joins us after a short spell as an Executive Member with 5th King’s Lynn (Gaywood Churches) where his children are members too.

While fairly new to Scouting, James brings an immense about of knowledge to the District from his involvement in military service, running his own successful business.

James is a member of Gayton Parish Council and a Governor at Gayton and Middleton School.

“I am really looking forward to getting to know the team” said James “I know that they is a lot of really positive things happening but it will also be good to understand some of the challenges people are facing and see how I can help”

“I see this as a really exciting time to join” James continued “especially with the District preparing to welcome new groups in January, following the operational review. It will be good because we will all be joining at about the same time!”

Matthew Burrell, our County Commissioner commented “I am sure everyone will join me in welcoming James to his role and support him in finding his feet., I know that James is very excited about getting started and be brings an abundance of skills and enthusiasm, I am really looking forward to working with James.”
