Message from the County Commissioner

Message from the County Commissioner

Dear Members of Norfolk Scouting.

Last week I launched the search for a County Youth Commissioner and an DCC Programme as I continue the task of building a high performing county team. This week I am taking this a stage further in announcing that I am seeking to appoint two new exciting roles. I wish to appoint a County Transformation Lead. This new role will see the formation of a transformation team that will not only start to rebuild the county and address our current problems, but will also help to meet the new challenges as scouting looks to transform for 2023 and beyond. The transformation lead (DCC) .Will have either professional or volunteer experience in influencing change and have the ability to lead a mission driven team. We are advertising this role internally and externally. The successful applicant will be required to join a national transformation event , base camp during the period 13th to 15th May at Manchester University. If you think this might just be the role you have been waiting for, with a real chance to shape the future of scouting, please get in touch for an informal chat.

At the same time I have asked Jane Warden to commence the search for a County Squirrels Advisor. This role will allow us to welcome this new and exciting section which is already making its mark across scouting. This will be an advisor role appointed by the board of trustees. We are seeking people from both inside and outside scouting with experience in the early years sector. So if you have an interest or know somebody please get in touch with Jane in the first instance.

Exciting times ahead in Norfolk scouting.

Yours in Scouting
