Norfolk Scouts is looking for our next County Lead Volunteer who will lead and support Scouts in Norfolk to oversee the completion of our ambitious transformation plans as part of the Skills for Life strategy.
The County Lead Volunteer will be an enthusiastic and talented person who will fulfil a key volunteer leadership role within Norfolk Scouting, with responsibility for providing outstanding management and support for the County and District teams across the County.
The primary focus for the County Lead Volunteer is to work with the Growth & Communities Team (HQ employed staff) and the County’s employed Growth and Development Officer to develop sustainable strategies to grow adult volunteering to meet the high demand for scouting across Norfolk. These strategies will ensure that Scouting is accessible to every young person in the County, and is open to all regardless of gender, faith, ethnicity or social background.
This will be achieved by leading the existing eight diverse District teams of District Lead Volunteers, as well as County appointed Teams, all who are talented and focused volunteers and who are passionate about Scouting and providing a high-quality balanced programme that is fun, challenging, relevant, rewarding and life-changing.
We want to create the best possible team to lead Scouts across Norfolk and believe that we can achieve this by inviting and involving volunteers from all walks of life, and who bring life-experiences, skills and new perspectives to the role. Of course, we recognise that a single individual may not possess all of the skills we are seeking and we will consider more than one person to take the role forward.
You can find all the details about the role on the link below so if you, or anyone you know, would make an outstanding County Lead Volunteer for Norfolk, we would strongly encourage you to apply yourself, or nominate someone.
The closing date for applications is 27th October and we very much look forward to hearing from you.
