Unit 50 gets a cracking new name, and a badge to match
The scouting adventure of a lifetime is just around the corner. In 2027, the 26th World Scout Jamboree will take place in Poland, bringing together hundreds of thousands of young people from across the globe to celebrate friendship, adventure, and the values that unite Scouts everywhere. It promises to be a truly extraordinary event, and Norfolk will be right there in the thick of it.
Unit 50 is Norfolk’s very own Jamboree unit, made up of 36 young people and 4 adult volunteers who will travel to Poland as part of the UK Contingent, an incredible opportunity to represent their county on the world stage and forge friendships that will last a lifetime.
Say hello to the Bootiful Bisons
And now they have a name to match their ambition. From this point on, Unit 50 will proudly be known as The Bootiful Bisons.
The name is a brilliant nod to both Norfolk dialect and the European bison, one of the national animals of Poland, making it a perfect symbol for a unit preparing to represent their home county in their host nation. It’s fun, it’s meaningful, and frankly, it’s very hard to say without smiling.
Get your hands on a badge
And what’s a great Scout unit name without a great badge? A Bootiful Bisons badge will soon be available to purchase — perfect for collectors, supporters, and anyone who simply wants to show some love for Norfolk’s Jamboree team.
Full details on pricing and how to order will be shared very soon, so keep your eyes peeled. In the meantime, make sure you’re following the unit on their social media channels so you don’t miss a thing.
The Bootiful Bisons are ready to make memories, forge new friendships, and bring a little bit of Norfolk to Poland. We can’t wait to cheer them on!
So rather than patch it up, we decided to start fresh.
