As part of our pledge to deliver opportunities for learning in Norfolk for 2024 the following modules will be offered on 11th May 2024 (venue to be confirmed but likely to be 1st Drayton HQ)
Module 16 Introduction to Residential Experiences (3 hours of learning 9.30am to 12.30pm)
This learning is an introduction aimed at all section team members who may organise or support residential experiences for young people. It includes information about preparing for a residential experience, identifying skills in the team, information about the Nights Away Permit Scheme and how to get further support to gain your permit.
Module 18 Practical Skills (3 hours of learning 1.30pm to 4.30pm)
This learning is for all section team members who wish to train, coach, and help young people and other adults to develop practical skills.
Participants will gain or develop at least two new practical skills and give the confidence to demonstrate these skills to others.
You should be prepared to bring along a practical skill that you can teach to another person, this doesn’t have to be a Scouting skill. In the past we have had people teach things from how to chop an onion without tears to how to tie a bowline.
These modules are part of the Woodbadge learning and must be validated within the first three years of volunteering however learning is for anyone that wishes to join in to update their skills and knowledge and to keep abreast of any changes since they completed their training.
Please note that Woodbadge learning is still compulsory and not yet optional.

Tea/coffee will be provided throughout the day. Please bring your own lunch/snacks if you are staying for the full day of learning.
Please come suitably dressed for some outdoor activities, uniform is not required but please feel free to wear your group, District or County neckers.
Please bring a note pad and pen. Handouts and appropriate resources will be provided.

There will be further opportunities to participate in these and other learning during the year both face to face and digitally. Dates will be provided to your District Lead Volunteer, Group Lead Volunteer, and advertised on the County website and in the fortnightly County newsletters.
