Active Support

Scout Active Support allows people to give their time to Scouting on a flexible basis. People can still be involved in Scouting without the full-time commitment of being a leader.

What Does Scout Active Support Do?

The answer is anything that Supports Scouting. Scout Active Support is a way for adults to volunteer some time to scouting in a flexible way that suits them. Scout Active Support is a resource for managers of local scouting including Group Scout Leaders, District & County Commissioners, to use in whichever way is required.

The ways that Scout Active Support can aid scouting are endless, ranging from helping section leaders to run a programme for the section to gain a specific award or badge, to helping out running activities at a camp, to providing extra help for a section if a leader is on maternity leave, to help setting up equipment for a promotional event.

Who Can Join Scout Active Support?

Scout Active Support welcomes men and women aged 18 and over and of all interests, abilities and backgrounds. There is no requirement to have been involved in Scouting or Guiding before joining, all that is required is a willingness to volunteer some time to support Scouting.
