The Tesco Stronger Starts Grant Funding Scheme

The scheme provides grants of up to £1,500 and two out of three successful applications are for groups supporting children and young people.

To be eligible for this funding, your organisation must be a not-for-profit entity, such as a charity, CIC (over 2 years old), or community/voluntary group, and you need to have a constitution or governing documents in place.

Activities can include but are not limited to:

  • Providing pupils with food for breakfast clubs or snacks throughout the day.
  • A school wanting to buy equipment for outdoor or indoor activities.
  • A food growing area.
  • Supporting an after school club.
  • A voluntary organisation working with families to run a food bank.
  • An organisation addressing holiday hunger.
  • A healthy eating project that supports families to cook healthy meals on a budget.
  • A group needing funding for new play equipment or activities.

The application process is simple and can be completed online. The Tesco Stronger Starts scheme is a rolling programme, allowing groups to apply at any time. However, we are currently low in applications for Downham Market, Dereham, Hunstanton, Stalham, Swaffham, Thetford and Watton so if you apply before 9th May your application will have a stronger chance at being successful with £1,500, £1,000 or £500.
